Dublin highlights include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century. A trip to the University of Dublin Trinity College provides a view of the magnificent Book of Kells, illuminated illustrations of the Christian Gospels dating from 800AD. Performance opportunities are offered in such historic and acoustically outstanding venues as the imposing St. Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191, Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin, or in Galway Cathedral. Instrumental groups often perform at Dublin’s Artane School of Music, where the band has been in existence since 1872.
